Sometimes many of us feel our prayers to God are not answered. Maybe we pray for health, and we remain sick. Or, maybe we have bills to pay, mouths to feed, or children who have wandered from the faith. For all of these things we pray very hard. But our prayers seem to fall on deaf ears and the remedy we seek through prayer is not realized. We ask ourselves how this can be when we know our God loves us and wants the very best for us?
God does, in fact, respond to all of our prayers, but in God’s time. And He has all the time in the world. Although we want our prayers answered quickly in our time, this may not be what is best for us. God grants us everything we need, when we need it, in the way we need it, for the salvation of our souls. All we need to do is trust in Him!
We are Catholic. We believe God wants us to be in heaven with Him for all of eternity. Trust that God will answer your prayers with your eternal destiny in mind. He hears, He cares, He answers. Trust in Him.
Ponder: What moments in our lives are the most difficult to put all of our trust in God?
Reflection: 1 John 5:14-15
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to grow in my total trust in You in all things.
