Sometimes it’s easy for each of us to say that we have total faith and trust in God. Especially when things are going our way and our obstacles are few, we can say with assurance, “I trust in God.”?
However, most of us have minor challenges in our life that we must confront daily. Usually, we can remain faithful in spite of these minor challenges. We may ask God why we are challenged, but in the end, we trust in his will for us.
Then, there are the big tests in our life that we have little or no control over. Maybe it’s a marital fidelity issue, the death of a loved one, or an unfavorable diagnosis from the doctor. These major events can test our faith and trust in God.
Having faith means totally trusting in the Lord especially when we have little control in the outcome. It’s as if the Lord is calling us to walk on the rough seas to meet him. It’s not easy to trust when the seas are rough.
We are Catholic. Jesus asks us to trust in him during the storms in our lives. When our life becomes turbulent, we have only the Lord to seek refuge. Walk toward Him keeping your gaze on His eyes. Jesus will never let you down. Trust that He will carry you through all the turbulent times in your life.
Ponder: What turbulent moments in your life has your faith been tested?
Reflect: Mt. 14:22-33
Pray: Jesus, I trust in You.
