Most of us are planners. Planning is good. It keeps us on track and allows us to get things done in a timely fashion. We plan our days and weeks, our meals, our appointments, birthdays, anniversaries and our vacations. We have day timers, day planners, Outlook calendars, and even alarms to notify us when our next planned event is arriving.
The question remains, where is God in all of our planning? Do we talk to God and ask him to be a part of our plans? Do we ask him if the plans we are making are in accordance with his will for us? Or do we think we know what’s best for us without the advice of God and charge ahead?
We are Catholic. We are called to include God in every decision we make, including our plans. Often, we find that our plans change due to unforeseeable events in our lives. This is where God may be reminding us to include him in our life plans. Always seek God when making plans. He is the ultimate time keeper in our lives.
Ponder: How do you include God in the plans you make for your day and for your life?
Reflect: Jer 29:11-14
Pray: O Lord, you are the center of my life. I will always praise you. I will always serve you. I will always keep you in my sight.
